The Benefits of Hiking for Health

This is not medical advice. Please consult your doctor before starting any fitness routine.

Hiking for health is legit. It's a great way to get in shape, enjoy time outside and increase your overall wellness. Hikers come in all shapes and sizes and everyone is welcome on the trails. Hiking doesn't need to be a back breaking adventure (but if that's your jam more power to you) and there are trails for all skill and fitness levels. From paved paths to high alpine rock scrambling there is something for everyone. You can find trails in national parks, wildlife areas and nature preserves, but you can also find them in suburban neighborhoods, city parks and metro areas.

Some great online trail resources to get you out there are Alltrails, Komoot and the Outdoor Project. You may also want to get some hiking tips from the American Hiking Society and the National Park Service
